Welcome to the ORA website!
The Oakland Robotics Association (ORA) is an engineering organization at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan dedicated to developing intelligent and autonomous robotic systems. We integrate principles from all disciplines of engineering in the development of our robots, and provide valuable hands-on design and building experience to our members that cannot be learned in the classroom.
The main goal of the organization is to field a team in the annual Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC) that is held each year on Oakland’s campus, usually on the last weekend of May or the first weekend of June.
Interested in Joining?
We are always looking for motivated individuals who have an interest in robotics to join our organization. Not only is competing in the IGVC fun, but in the process our members gain valuable hands-on engineering experience that helps the engineering student transition from the structured school setting to the open-ended design environment found in the workplace. This is also experience that looks great on a future resume…
We look forward to hearing from you! Our contact information can be found on the Contact Us page.
The Oakland Robotics Association is very grateful to its sponsors, whose generosity goes a long way to making us a successful team!
